I am truly honored to have received the Park-Sihocky Award as I am a new sponsor. I would like to thank the administration for their support as well as that of my colleagues. I would also like to thank my students, who challenge me every day and thus inspire me to innovate my learning strategies.

 

This award only serves to fortify my efforts to help students become more civically engaged, by making them contributing members of society. 

 

It is important for them to realize the difference they can have in their communities, in doing so, it will also encourage them to pass on what they have learned to others so that it becomes generational. In conjunction to being a teacher at the Brownsville Independent School District, I am a dual enrollment professor at Texas Southmost College.

 

I look forward to traveling next year to Atlanta to personally meet the AATSP members and continue to inspire the service leaders of tomorrow.
